Typography At Its Finest
Thanks to Nicole M. Barker for a great post. The title says it all, so clever and so much fun. Make sure to watch the video
Artist Ji Lee created a series of graphical type pieces and an animated video titled “Word as image”. Conceptual realizations of common words, popular people, places, objects, actions and ideas like “exit”, “Spiderman”, and “parellel”. Some graphical associations I found immediately visible. Others were more subtle, a visual puzzle if you will, but each piece is brilliantly and pointedly designed. The use of negative space in the execution is commendable.
Look close. These simple symbols are more than meets the eye.
